As the temperature soars in Arizona, we ready ourselves to head into the mountains of New Mexico for the summer. It's not just Scottsdale that's heating up, either. The TV show I'm writing for The N, and the movie I've written and am co-producing with Debra Martin Chase and Nely Galan, are both showing great promise, as is a new collection of essays I'm working on.
In the interest of conserving energy for my work and family, I've decided to take a summer hiatus from blogging. Not only will I be online less (highly recommended) and in nature more (camping! hiking! rafting!), I also hope to channel my urge to write into carefully creating something less ephemeral than a blog.
I suspect that as fall comes 'round, and I return to the (sub)urban life with my several projects completed, that I might once again be struck by the urge to journal here. Until then, Patrick, Alex, Topaz, Squishy and I all wish you all a restful summer.
If you wish for more information about my books or other projects, please check in with my newly designed Web site, www.alisavaldesrodriguez.com, which should be operational by the end of June (and will redirect to this page until then) or sign up for my monthly newsletter at right. If you wish to reach me for a speaking engagement or other reason related to my profession, my agents' contact information is listed at the end of this page.
Sending positive vibes to all, lookin' hot and feelin' cool in my hiking boots, from the heart of the high desert,
Alisa Valdes-Rodriguez :-)
